Elephant National Park "Eddo"

Addo Elephant National Park, Kirkwood, South Africa

Description:

Eddo Park is a paradise for elephant lovers. Huge herds of these grandiose animals live here in a natural environment and do not pose any danger to guests of the park.

The Eddo Elephant Park was established in 1931. This was done not out of love for elephants, but to save the almost destroyed species. Due to uncontrolled poaching by the time the park was created, only 11 individuals remained in the vicinity. Thanks to the work of the park staff, more than 200 elephants live here today.

Due to the huge population, it is increasingly difficult for Eddo Park staff to keep animals in the park. Elephants often run away, causing great damage to farmland and putting their own lives in danger - after all, in the vicinity, there are still a lot of elephant hunters.
