Kango Caves

Cango Caves, Klein Karoo Street, Oudtshoorn 6620, South Africa

Description:

Kango Caves are a complex of grottoes consisting of three sections, the total length of which exceeds four kilometers. The caves are striking in their antiquity: after all, their age is twenty million years.

Kango caves have many very narrow passages, which are not an easy task to overcome. In addition, it is better for fat people to refrain from visiting caves. A few years ago, there was a funny case when a fat woman managed to get stuck in one of the aisles. The case has turned into a nightmare for the 23 tourists trapped behind the woman's back. All tourists, including the hapless woman, were brought to the light of God only twelve hours later.

There is a legend: allegedly at the end of the nineteenth century, the explorer Johnny de Wassenaer managed to penetrate into the depths of the caves for as much as 25 kilometers, but there was no confirmation of this.
