African Gold Museum

Martin Melck House, 96 Strand Street, Cape Town, 8001

About the company:

In Cape Town you can find a unique museum "Gold of Africa". The museum offers its visitors to get acquainted with the ancient, sometimes mystical connection that for centuries connects gold and the African continent.

The Gold of Africa Museum is home to a collection of 350 artifacts made of gold. They are located in an old building, which was built in 1783. At the beginning of the twenty-first century, large-scale restoration work was carried out under the patronage of businessman Martin Meltsk. Today, the museum is the oldest building in Cape Town.

The Museum "Gold of Africa" has temporary exhibitions from different countries: India, Brazil, Mali and Egypt. The main idea of such exhibitions is to destroy geographical borders and cultural barriers between countries.
