The Dragon Mountain Caves

The highest mountain range in South Africa is called Drakensberg (Dragon Mountains). According to legend, the locals in the late 19th century saw a dragon on one of the mountain peaks, after which they completely refused to call the mountains any other way.

The Drakensberg Mountains are very popular among tourists. One of the reasons is the local picturesque caves, inside which rock paintings were discovered. The paintings were painted on the walls thousands of years ago, their authorship belongs to the ancient African tribe of Bushmen.
