Leidenburg Museum

Voortrekker Str, The Heads, Lydenburg 1120, South Africa

About the company:

The Leidenburg Museum is located at the entrance to the Gustav Klingbeil Nature Reserve. It was established in 1972 and today is considered the best museum in the province of Mpumalanga.

The collections of the Leidenburg Museum tell the best about the history of the surrounding area, as well as tell about the early stay of primitive man in the area. Of particular interest is the exposition dedicated to the first gold miners.

The museum got its name from the mysterious Leidenburg heads that were found nearby in 1960. These sculptures were created by an unknown tribe thousands of years before our era.
