Description:
Kasanka National Park is located in Zambia, Serenja County of the Central Province. Covering an area of 420 square kilometers, Kasanka is one of the smallest national parks in Zambia.
Kasanka was the first privately managed park in Zambia. Privately funded, Casanka Trust has been managing the park since 1986 in collaboration with the Zambian wildlife protection authorities. The territory of the park has a mostly flat relief, decorated with nine lakes and a dense network of rivers and streams. The park is inhabited by 108 species of mammals and 450 species of birds. The largest permanent predator in the park is the leopard.
The park is open all year round. For bird watching, the rainy season is especially good, which lasts from November to March, when migratory birds from the north fly here.
You can get to the park by leaving Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. Kasanka National Park, inhabited by large herds of animals and flocks of birds, is considered one of the most picturesque parks in Zambia.
