Lochinvar National Park
Description:
Lochinvar National Park is located in the vast floodplain of the Kafu River. There are 428 species of birds, so the park has become especially famous among ornithologists. Spread over 428 square kilometers, the park is conditionally divided into three different zones - meadows, forests and floodplains.
Currently, the population of birds in the park is increasing, which has decreased in the past due to uncontrolled shooting. For bird watching, the territories of river floodplains are best suited. During the rainy season, from December to March, large flocks of flamingos, hollows and pelicans fly here. In addition to bird watching, the park is famous for its hiking safaris. Predators and large mammals are few, so the park is ideal for walking. From wild animals there are herds of antelopes, zebras and buffaloes.
In addition to watching animals, you can find many natural and historical attractions in the park. Lochinwar National Park is a three-hour drive from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. The access road to the park starts from the town of Monze, which can be reached by the Livingston-Lusaka highway.
