Lover Zambezi National Park

Zambia, Lusaka Province

Description:

Lover Zambezi National Park is located on the north bank of the Zambezi River, in southeastern Zambia. Many natural canals formed by the Zambezi River allow you to get close to the wildlife and watch the game of animals wandering along the banks of the river.

Despite the fact that the park covers an area of 4092 square kilometers, most of the tourist routes pass along a narrow strip of the valley floor. The steep slope along the northern part of the park is a physical barrier for wildlife. The park has herds of buffalo, elephants, lions and leopards. The park is also rich in a variety of birds nesting among coastal cliffs. Fig trees grow along the banks of the river, forming dense intricacies of crowns. In the depths of the park there are hills covered with broadleaf forests. In the forests you can find huge centuries-old acacia.

The best time to visit the park is from June to September, but you can rent a bungalow and rent a canoe from April to November. The first half of autumn is the best time for fishing lovers.
