De Las Concha Gorge
Description:
Gorge De Las Conchas, whose name translates from Spanish as “Rakovin Gorge”, is located on the road from Cafayate to Salta.
The bizarre forms of the gorge are made by nature itself – by the river, wind and rain. Red sandstone prevails here, but the rock is multilayered, and each layer has its own color hue. The formations reach about a hundred meters in height, which is truly amazing and impressive.
The river forms winding canyons that permeate sandstone in the most unexpected places.
On the road that leads through the gorge, there are special places where you can leave the car and go to admire the incredible nature.
