Defending the Rights of Innocent Convicted

Poet Egishe Charents (Hud. M. Saryan)On June 14, at the state level, on the initiative of the Dashnaktsutyun party, the Day of Protection of the Rights of the Innocent Convicted was proclaimed in Armenia, in memory of tens of thousands repressed during the Bolshevik dictatorship.

Among the victims of the repression were many Armenians. Among them are the great poet Egishe Charents, Bakunts, sons of the poet Hovhannes Tumanyan.
