The Sacred Places of the Alpine Sevan

The tour begins at 11:00 near the Marriott Hotel in Republic Square.

1st

The legendary Lake Sevan is the largest lake in the Caucasus and one of the most visited attractions in Armenia. Located in the Gegharkunik region, at an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level. On the peninsula, on a high hill, is the famous Sevanavank Monastery, built in 874 by Princess Mariam. Climbing the hill, you will have a great opportunity to explore the ancient Monastery complex and take really fantastic photos against the backdrop of the majestic lake. Also at the top of the hill is a small botanical garden and an observation deck that creates a landscape as if you are standing in the center of Sevan.

2nd

Ayravank Monastery was built in the 9th century and is located on the banks of Sevan, on a hilly slope. Not far from the Monastery is the White Fortress, which according to legend was connected by a secret tunnel with Ayravank. The monastery complex is a vivid example of Armenian cross-domed architecture. From the top of the hills opens a fantastic landscape of the lake, where you will have a great opportunity to take fabulous photos for memory.

3rd

The last attraction of our beautiful excursion is the Khachkar Noratus Cemetery, which is located in the village of the same name and is the world's largest place for the accumulation of these unique Armenian sculptures (about 2000 Khachkars). The oldest of Khachkars (translated as Cross-stone) date back to the 10th century AD. One of these ancient sculptures was donated to the British Museum in 1978, and to this day Khachkars are of great interest all over the world. It is a suitable place to explore history, architecture and walks in the clean air.

2. Dear guests, please note that this is a group tour and in the case of a group not recruited, the tour will either be postponed to another day, or the program will be reduced or completely canceled.
3. Minimum acceptance period of orders is 7 days.
4. The tour is conducted only in Russian.
5. Please keep in mind that the group tour has its own fixed start, site inspection and general program (but we will try to be as flexible as possible on your requests).
6. The tour will be conducted by my employee (guide driver) in the second comfortable minivan.
