National Historical Museum of Armenia

Yerevan, Armenia, Republic Square

About the company:

Do you know that traces of the ancient man’s habitation were found in various areas of the Armenian Highlands: in Arzni, Nurnus and other places, parking lots with stone tools were found, and in the Hrazdan Gorge, Lusakert, cave dwellings were found? The oldest stone tools discovered are 800,000 years old. Parking sites of primitive people of the Neolithic era were also found.

You can learn about such facts from the history of the Armenian state by visiting the National Historical Museum of Armenia. Here you will find various expositions dedicated to the culture and history of Armenia - from the Neolithic era to the modern history of this state. The museum presents rare traces of cultural relations with the ancient eastern countries of the Armenian Highlands: Egypt, Mitany, the Hittite Kingdom, Assyria, Iran, the Seleucid State, Rome and the Byzantine Empire.

The National Historical Museum of Armenia (formerly the State Historical Museum of Armenia) is the main historical museum of Armenia located in the city of Yerevan. The museum was founded in 1921 together with the Art Gallery of Armenia, with which it shares the common building of the museum complex located on Republic Square.

The museum exposition is divided into several departments: archaeological, ethnographic, department of numismatics, department of historical architecture, and department of new and recent history of Armenia. The museum owns a huge and unique collection of 3rd-2nd millennium BC bronze products, which can rightly be attributed to the masterpieces of world culture.

The National Historical Museum of Armenia is so unique that it makes no sense to list all its expositions, it is best to see all its wealth with your own eyes!
