Yerevan Railway Station

Description:

The railway station in Yerevan was built in the place where the first line of the railway connecting Alekandropol and Tiflis was laid in 1902. The station building stands on David Sassunsky Square. Nearby are the subway station Sasunzi David, ground transport stops, as well as auxiliary structures - locomotive and wagon depot. The modern building of the station was built in 1956, and in 2009 the Museum of Railway Transport of Armenia was opened on its territory.

In 2010, repairs were carried out at the station, which significantly improved the appearance of the station and gave it a modern look. In particular, after the repair, the halls of international and long-distance communication were divided and an LCD board with information for passengers was placed. Also at the station there is a post office, a cafe, a restaurant and a station hotel.

In the future, it is planned to build a railway line that will connect Yerevan and Zvartnots city airport, as well as launch a city train that will run within the city.
