Look up at the world! Mountain tour in Armenia

After meeting at the airport, we will go on a tour of the city of Echmiatsin. This is the spiritual center of Armenia and all Armenians, there is the residence of the Catholicos, the cathedral and many other interesting temples and churches. After staying in a hotel in Yerevan, we will go for a walk around the evening capital.

Day 2 (Artanish 2461m)

Lake Sevan is one of the largest alpine lakes in the world. It is located at an altitude of 1900 m above sea level, and covers an area of 1300 square kilometers. It is surrounded by mountains on all sides, but only from one mountain you can see the whole lake. That’s where we’ll go on the first day. We combine pleasant with useful. Enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Sevan and pass acclimatization before high ascents. Descending from the mountain, we swim and set up tents on the shore of the lake. The hike is about 7 km.

3, 4, 5 days (Ajdaak 3600m)

Next, we will have a three-day trip to the Gegham Ridge. We will climb to its highest peak Azhdaak (3600 m). The mountain is like a truncated cone, on top of which a crater with a transparent lake. There are no towns or villages in the mountains, only occasionally there are nomadic shepherds. But many dragon stones. Vishapakars indicate that people lived here 9000 years ago. Descending from the mountains, we will visit the monastery of Geghard, the halls and floors of which are carved in a single piece of rock, and the pagan temple of the I century. We will spend the night at a hotel in Yerevan. Three-day hike for about 35 km.

6, 7, 8, 9 days (4 peaks of Aragats - 3879m, 3916m, 4008m, 4092m)

We'll spend four days on the mountain. Today it is the highest mountain in Armenia and the whole Transcaucasia. Amazing view has a huge crater of the mountain. Surrounded by four peaks, full of small streams, snowballs and colorful soil, it sometimes resembles the land of Sannikov. We will try to climb all four peaks. We will spend the night in the crater at an altitude of 3550 m, and at the beautiful lake Kari (Kamennoye) at 3200 m. Descending from the mountain, we will visit the medieval fortress, where the filming of the film “Bastards” took place. A four-day hike of about 40 km.

Free day in Yerevan. You can buy souvenirs at the vernissage, where many handmade products are presented, you can visit museums or galleries, or you can just walk around the city before leaving for the airport.
