Aparan reservoir
Description:
The Aparan Reservoir in Armenia (Gyumri) or е is an artificial reservoir on the Kassakh River, which is currently actively used for irrigation activities. Ten years ago, this reservoir was reconstructed, as a result of which a new channel for descent of water was built, the support structures of the dams were strengthened, the total displacement volume increased.
A feature is the presence at the bottom of this artificial reservoir of a unique monument in the form of the church of Surb Pogos-Petros. The coordinates of the attraction located on the territory of the Aragatsotn region: 40°29′49′′ N. and 44°26′07′′ E.
