Gold Rush in Australia
Description:
This is a day tour from Melbourne to the gold rush city of Australia - Ballarat. At the start of the tour, we’ll take a look at some of Melbourne’s attractions (all attractions require an additional city tour) and then move to the gold rush city of Ballarat, Victoria’s second largest mainland city.
Here, recreated theatrical town of the 1850s - the time of discovery and mining of gold in Australia. The town itself is called "Independence Hill" or Sovereign Hill and reflects all the nuances of life of that time: production, shops, restaurants, hotels, gold mines, schools, related businesses - you can see in their original form. And it works like 160 years ago! You will experience the atmosphere of those years and feel in real time how everything has changed.
You will get some gold by the old methods (we guarantee), or buy it in a gift shop, which is much easier, see firsthand how the ingots were cast, visit a number of theatrical performances, where locals play the roles of those times. You can also visit the Gold Museum, which displays all the important gold finds of old times and our time (the last ones date from after 2000!).
