Fitzroy Gardens Park

230-298 Wellington Parade, Melbourne VIC 3002, Australia

Description:

There are many parks in Melbourne, making it the “City of Gardens”. One of the most interesting parks is Fitzroy Gardens, located in the southeast of the city. The park covers an area of 26 hectares of Australian land and is famous for such attractions as the house of Captain James Cook, a model Tudor village, a fairy tree and a greenhouse.

The James Cook House has an interesting history. The fact is that it was originally built in North Yorkshire, in the north of England. Subsequently, it was dismantled by brick and moved to a new place - in Fitzroy Gardens. Inside the house is recreated the life of medieval England, and around the house grow only those plants and trees that were brought from England.
