The legendary Café Landtmann is located on the University Ring.
The most elegant cafe in Vienna has been here since 1873, when Franz Landtmann, who came from a family of cafe and bakery owners, opened his first restaurant. Delicious pastries, coffee-based drinks, quick service and a pleasant atmosphere quickly earned him fame among the Viennese intelligentsia. Visitors to the cafe were writer Peter Altenberg, Sigmund Freud, Gustav Mahler, Max Reinhardt, Marlene Dietrich, Romy Schneider, Bert Lancaster, Hanz Moser, Dutch Queen Juliana, Hillary Clinton and Sir Paul McCartney.
In the cafe, according to the old Viennese tradition, a dense breakfast is served. The menu includes several of its types (English, home, French, Vienna, etc.) A large selection of local sweets, confectionery, Viennese coffee, hot chocolate and mint tea will not leave anyone indifferent.
