Dominican Church
Description:
The church dates back to 1226, when Dominicans first came to Australia. They were invited by Leopold VI. The duke gave them an allotment of land, where ten years later the guests built their first temple in Vienna. But the monastery was not destined to live to our days. The church was rebuilt three times due to the destruction during the wars.
The current version was built in 1631. Architectural ensemble in the style of early Baroque. First of all, the facade of the building is attracted, which has already become sour over time. Above the entrances to the church is the figure of St. Mary. On both sides of it are statues of St. Agnes Montepulciano and St. Catherine of Sinai.
No less beautiful is the interior of the church. The gaze rivets the main altar, illustrating the vision of St. Dominic. In a dream, the Virgin Mary appeared to him and presented her beads. So there were rosaries, and in the church the altar "Virgin Mary is clear."
