St. Augustine's Church

Josefsplatz 1-3, 1010 Wien, Austria

Description:

The Church of St. Augustine is located in the capital of Austria, Vienna. This is an ancient temple, built in the XIV century in the then popular Gothic style. Subsequently, the church became a family temple of the Habsburg dynasty. Many monarchs were married here, in particular Maria Theresa and Franz Stefan of Lorraine, as well as Napoleon Bonaparte and Maria Louise.

The main attraction of the church are numerous silver urns. They house the hearts of representatives of the imperial family, from Ferdinand II to Franz Karl. The urn is a unique collection of burials of Austrian emperors. In order to see this, it is worth coming here!

The church has a very good location: it is located in the center of the Austrian capital, in the inner city, on Josefplatz Square. Here you can always find suitable restaurants and cafes, as well as buy souvenirs.
