Landstrasser Gurtel 3, Vienna, Austria | Prinz Eugen-Strae 27
Description:
The Alpine Garden is a great place to walk. Here, on Mount Patcherkofel, a unique collection of high-altitude vegetation is collected. The park is open to tourists from June to September, the entrance is free. You can walk along the green alleys from nine to seventeen hours. This is a protected area, so you can only walk strictly along these paths. You can not tear grass and flowers, many plants are poisonous.
The Alpine Garden was created at the University in 1930-1935. The area was abandoned because the gardener had gone to war. It was only by 1994 that the garden was finally put in order and made open to visitors, who can only move here on a special circular path. There are markings and signs on the tracks.
