Setagaya Park
Hohe Warte 8, 1190 Wien, Austria
Description:
In May 1992, another wonderful park appeared on the map of Vienna, which became one of the favorite places for romantic walks and recreation. Designed by Japanese landscape designer Ken Nakajima, the garden has become a symbol of friendship between the two countries, and it received its name in honor of one of the districts of Tokyo.
The concept of the park is kept in the best traditions of the Japanese garden. In its design there are all the integral elements of the Japanese landscape - a tea house, ponds with small waterfalls, stones, elegant bridges and neat rows of plants. The park is especially picturesque in spring during flowering, when it turns into a kaleidoscope of bright colors. Near the main entrance is a small stone monument engraved with a Japanese word for paradise. Thus, the creators of the park wanted to remind visitors that they are entering a real “man-made paradise”.
