Hofburg Gardens

Hofburg - Michaelerkuppel, A-1010 Wien, osterreich

Description:

The Hofburg was once the magnificent winter estate of the Austrian Habsburgs, and is now used as the official residence of the President of Austria. This building is an excellent example of longevity, which has retained its political and historical significance. The construction includes a complex of palaces, utility buildings and magnificent gardens.

The Hofburg Gardens are one of the most beautiful places on earth. They were designed during the time of Emperor Franz I on the site of the former fortress bastion. Their main attraction is a beautiful greenhouse and the Butterfly House located inside it. In the center of the garden complex, in a spacious pavilion, there is an island of tropical forest with various exotic plants. A wide winding staircase with massive marble railings leads to a small garden located in the backyard.

Here you can get acquainted with the luxurious snow-white monument to Mozart and the delightful flowerbed, broken near it, made in the form of a violin key, as well as the monument dedicated to Emperor Franz Joseph. In the depths of the garden, in the shadow of broad-leaved trees, there is a sculpture of Franz Stefan, on which the commander is depicted sitting on a horse.
