Turkish Park
Peter-Jordan-Strae, Gregor-Mendel-Strasse, Hasenauerstrae and Max Emanuel-Strae, Vienna, Austria
Description:
Turkenschanzpark is located in the 18th district of Vienna. The park is one of the largest green agglomerates of Vienna, whose area exceeds 150 square kilometers. Interestingly, the park got its name due to Turkish military fortifications discovered during excavations carried out nearby. The park is famous for its rich and rare collection of various plants, as well as the original design of the landscape.
After 1892, the Turkish Park, which was managed by the city authorities, was significantly redesigned. Moreover, it was supplemented by a small artificial reservoir.
This wonderful park often hosts various mass entertainment events, for example, in 2011 there was an art festival.
