Bruckner Monument

Stadtpark, Vienna, Austria

Description:

Bruckner Anton (1824-1896) was a famous Austrian musician, organist, composer, teacher, author of 11 famous symphonies and works for the choir. His music is characteristic of the Baroque era with original roll-calls of different groups of voices and musical instruments.

In the Vienna city park Stadtpark in 1908, a monument to Anton Bruckner was opened. It is a bronze bust mounted on a wide rectangular white pedestal. The composer is captured to the waist with his head raised and turned to the right. On the sides are carved two columns, between which is held a plate with carved large letters BRUCKNER. Looking at the thoughtful glance of the musician, it seems that at this moment he composes his new work. At the foot of the monument, flowers are planted, and everything around it literally drowns in greenery.

Also in this park you can see monuments to musicians Franz Schubert, Johann Strauss, Franz Lear, Robert Stolz and others. Here is a bust of the former mayor of Vienna Andreas Celinca, under which the Stadtpark was created.
