Vienna

Monument to Johann Strauss

Vienna, Austria

Description:

In the city Viennese Park in 1931, the grand opening of the bronze monument to the “king of waltzes” Johann Strauss took place. It was installed on the basis of marble and made a gold coating, which was decided to remove in 1935. In 1991, the statue of the great composer was moved to restoration workshops, where the gold coating was updated and the base and steps were cleaned, as well as static measurements were made. About 300,000 euros were spent on restoration work.

In the autumn of 2011, the monument to Strauss was again ready for visitors to the Austrian capital and local residents. Near it there is a chic flowerbed, on both sides exclusive palm trees are planted in vases, brought to order. Three broad steps lead to the monument. Strauss is captured while playing the violin, all nature around him seems to have frozen and listens to the great creator.
