Stephansplatz Square

Stefansplatz, 1010 Vienna, Austria

Description:

Stefansplatz Square, also known as St. Stephen’s Square, is one of the busiest places in Vienna. It's located downtown.

There are several architectural monuments on the square, including St. Stephen’s Cathedral, after which the square is named. The Gothic cathedral is the dominant square and the tallest church in the world.

On the south side of the square is Vienna’s tallest building, the Hochturn Observation Tower, built between 1368 and 1433. During international conflicts, it was used as an observation deck.

Here you can also see the modern building of the Haas House shopping center in the postmodern style, where you can visit many shops and good restaurants.
