Bahnorama Observation Tower
sonnwendgasse and Favoritenstra ß e 51, Vienna, Austria
Description:
Bahnorama is the name of a wooden observation tower 66 meters high, climbing to which tourists and residents of the city can look at the construction process of the new Main Station of Vienna. Actually, the name of the tower comes from the German word "Bahnhof", meaning the station.
At the entrance to the tower there are cafes surrounded by small gardens. In a separate room inside the tower, there is an exhibition dedicated to the railway project, which presents models and stands telling about this major project.
Located at the intersection of two streets, the tower is built of selected spruce. Due to the design features, it was installed in a fairly short time. The tower is equipped with two elevators, with which you can climb to the highest level of the tower, which is the highest wooden structure in Europe.
