The Third Man Museum

Pressgasse 25, Vienna 1040, Austria

About the company:

The Third Man Museum is located in Vienna. It is dedicated to the classic spy thriller of the same name, directed by Carol Reed. The film was made during the Cold War and is inextricably linked with an important page in the history of the country.

In a small hall with a capacity of only 15 spectators, a short fragment of the famous work of cinematography is shown, then visitors are invited to view the exhibition. Here are photos of the authors of the picture, genuine advertising posters, newspapers, letters, books about this film and even the ziter on which the composer Anton Karas composed a melody that became popular.

The museum was founded by the Viennese historian Gerhard Strasgschwandtner and his wife Karin Höfler. The exhibits are the contents of a private collection of the creators of the museum, which they have been collecting for many years.
