Comic Book Museum

The Museum of Comics was created in Brussels to celebrate Belgian comic art. The museum is located in a beautiful building created by Victor Horta in the Art Nouveau style. The museum contains in its exposition a huge number of comics and drawings created in various genres - science fiction, detective, western, political and others.

The collection of the museum allows you to trace all stages of the development of this art from the beginning to the present day. New comics are exhibited side by side with rare editions of previous years. The main exhibition contains the works of such famous artists as Brussels native Herger, author of the comic book about Tintin: the Center contains about 400 original drawings of his hand. In addition, the collection includes more than 25 thousand works by other authors.

Separately, it is worth mentioning the Brussels comic book route, covering more than fifty buildings in the city center, on the walls of which the characters of Belgian comics and scenes from them are depicted. This project started in 1991, and it not only emphasized the reverent attitude of the Belgians to the genre of comics, but also helped turn the slightly mutilated city walls into part of the famous tourist route today.
