Orta Museum

Rue Am ricaine 25 1060 Saint-Gilles, Belgium

About the company:

The Orta Museum is dedicated to the life and work of the famous modernist architect Victor Hort. The museum is housed in the house where the architect lived and worked, which is also one of his masterpieces of Art Nouveau.

The main exhibit of the museum is the house itself. The buildings are an example of the architect’s innovative solutions – for example, the construction of rooms around the central hall and the creation of natural illuminations using a glass ceiling. The premises of the house present various objects created by the architect and belonged to him - furniture, dishes, art objects and documents. The museum building and three other buildings built by Orth are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
