Gulden Stadium Is Controversial

Kanonstraat, Kortrijk, Belgium

Description:

The Gulden Controversial Stadium, located in the Belgian city of Kortrijk, was inaugurated on August 11, 1947. The project of the stadium, whose name in Belgian means “golden spur”, belongs to the architect Maurice Delahouse. The stadium was named after the Battle of Spurs, which took place on July 11, 1302, in which French troops and Flanders fought.

The Gulden Controversial Stadium is considered home to Kortrijk Football Club. After the reconstruction according to the new safety standards, the capacity of the stadium stands was reduced to 9,399 seats, of which 5,749 are seated. Wooden benches at the time were replaced by plastic chairs.
