Mount Vihren

Description:
Vihren is the second highest mountain in Bulgaria. This is an almost three-kilometer marble peak of the Pirin mountain range. It is of interest both for professional climbers, thanks to the slopes of the 3-5 difficulty category available all year round, and for lovers of easy walking routes: you can climb the tourist trail from south to mountain without special equipment. It is better to do this from July to early autumn, when the night temperature reaches its maximum. Ascent requires a good level of general physical fitness.
Near the mountain is the world-famous ski resort town of Bansko, a little closer to the top - the tourist base "Vihren" and "Bynderitsa".
