National Museum of Transport and Communications
bratya Obretenov Street, Ruse, Bulgaria
About the company:
The National Museum of Transport and Communications is located in Ruse on the territory of the first Bulgarian railway station. It was founded in early 1866 and soon declared an architectural monument. The museum consists of three branches - one of them is devoted to railway transport, the second - to navigation, and the third - to various communication tools. The exposition of the institution presents quite a lot of samples, among which you will find railway signs, forms of conductors, sleepers, rare photographs and archival documents, but the greatest value is the transport itself.
Among the most popular exhibits are the carriage of Sultan Abul Azis and the comfortable carriages of Kings Boris III and Ferdinand. The exhibition dedicated to shipping includes ancient ships and maps of the Danube water area. In the communication hall you can get acquainted with the subjects that tell about the development of post, telegraph, television and radio.
The National Museum of Transport and Communications will find something to surprise tourists. Here you can learn a lot of interesting facts and see dozens of old vehicles. Its doors are open to you from Monday to Friday - from 8:00 to 17:00.
