Monument to the 1300th Anniversary of Bulgaria

Description:

A group of sculptors (Krum Damyanov, Ivan Slavov), artists (Vladislav Paskalev, Stoyan Velev) and architects (Georgi Gechev, Blago Atanasov) took part in the development of the monument.

The construction of the monument is designed in the style of cubism and made in the form of a mosaic-triptych, which is considered the largest in Europe. The monument consists of three closely intertwined sculptural compositions that represent the past, present and future.

The length of the monument is 140 meters, and the height is about 70 meters. Near the monument there is an information center for tourists, there is a permanent exhibition of the history of the development of the Bulgarian state. For a long time, the monument was popular with newlyweds who loved to hold a wedding ceremony here.

The monument was built very quickly and not qualitatively. Over time, it began to deteriorate, they tried to repair it, now there is a question of its demolition.
