The monument is a tribute of the Bulgarian people to their soldiers who have fought for their country. On the basis of the monument, the words of the famous Bulgarian poet Ivan Vazov are engraved, which are dedicated to all those who died heroically defending their homeland.
On the pedestal there is a bronze lion, long considered a symbol of Bulgaria. It is full of dignity and greatness. Near the lion are urns with land brought from the battlefield at Old Zagora and Shipka. The whole composition is complemented by eternal fire.
