Museum of Socialist Art
About the company:
The Art Museum of Totalitarian (or Socialist) Art was opened in 2011 and is a branch of the National Art Gallery.
It is located in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. According to the organizers of the museum, it should represent the end of pressure on the country of the communist past and a complete transition to a democratic future.
Bulgaria was the last of all socialist republics to open a museum of the communist past.
The museum exhibits paintings, sculptures and other objects, at one time actively promoting communism, which for the past twenty years have been dusting in basements and attics. Here in great numbers are busts of Lenin, paintings depicting workers and peasants, and, of course, a symbol of the communist system red five-pointed star.
