National Museum of Natural History

1 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd, 1000 Sofia, Bulgaria

About the company:

The National Museum of Natural History is located in the Bulgarian capital Sofia on the Boulevard of the Tsar Liberator near the Russian church.

The museum was founded in 1889 and was the first museum of its kind in the Balkans. The initiator of the museum was the Bulgarian Prince Ferdinand, and he called on foreign and local specialists to help himself. Initially, the Museum of Natural History was part of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, but in 1974 it began to exist separately.

Today, the museum looks like an ordinary modern building, and many visitors do not even suspect that behind its walls there are unique collections of animals, birds, plants, insects and minerals.

The museum exhibits about 400 stuffed animals, 1500 species of birds, thousands of insects and many other invertebrates. On the first floor of the museum you can see samples of minerals, minerals and rocks.
