Sofia Airport is the airport of the capital and largest city of Bulgaria.
The airport is located five kilometers from the center of Sofia.
The airport was created in the late 30s of the XX century. As of 2011, the passenger turnover of the airport was more than three million people. As passenger traffic at Sofia Airport is increasing, a new terminal was opened in 2006. A new runway was also built, and a new control tower was opened in December 2012. Today, there are many projects for the further development of Sofia Airport.
The airport can be reached by bus, minibus or taxi.
