Chico Mendes Ecological Park

Chico Mendes Ecological Park is located a few kilometers from the center of Rio Branco, in the suburbs, and is free to visit. There is a small monument to Chico Mendes, the Brazilian national hero and protector of the Amazon jungle.

The Ecopark consists of three sectors.

This is a great place for leisurely hiking in the dense rainforest with huge, majestic trees, various types of exotic plants and birds. In a small zoo located in this area, you can see several species of Amazonian leopards, monkeys, colorful birds and snakes.
