Praia da Lua Beach

Praia da Lua Beach is the best beach in Manaus. It is a short boat ride up the Rio Negro River.

The name of the beach comes from the shape of the beach, similar to a crescent moon. The beach is one of the local attractions and attracts a lot of tourists due to the good sand and water temperature.

As on other local beaches, there are food and drink outlets. A big disadvantage of the beach is the lack of public toilets.

In 2012, the General Prosecutor’s Office found that the entrance to the beach was prohibited if visitors did not buy food from establishments on the beach. In connection with these and other violations of the city beaches, a lawsuit was filed against the city of Manaus.
