Amazonas Federal University Museum

Avenida Rodrigo Otá vio, 3000 - Coroado, Manaus - AM, Brasil

About the company:

The Amazonas Federal University Museum provides visitors with access to rich ethnographic and archaeological collections in an ancient mansion.

The idea of creating such a museum appeared in 1975, but it was opened only in 1991 as part of the University.

A special pride of the museum is the largest library, including books, reports, letters, maps, newspapers and other important documents for the region dating from the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries. Other exhibits should be noted ceramic artifacts (urns, pots, jewelry, dishes), which also belong to the life of the inhabitants of the Amazon.

The institution constantly organizes new exhibitions, as well as conducts educational events with the participation of schools of the city and the region.
