About the company:
The Heinz Ebert Museum of Minerals and Rocks is located in the university building, in the building of the Institute of Geological Sciences.
The creation of the museum dates back to the late 60s of the last century, when Professor Heinz Ebert came to Brazil for mining in Rio de Janeiro. At the university he created a geological department, where he transferred the collected collections of minerals and rocks.
The museum opened in 1976. Today, the museum has an encyclopedia of minerals in 2002. The Heinz Ebert Museum regularly receives various collections of minerals from geology students.
The museum consists of four departments: the first exhibition hall with 5,600 samples of minerals and rocks, the second hall with 360 samples, the lithotechs with more than 25,000 samples found in different regions of the country, and the educational and scientific laboratory with 15,000 fossil samples.
