The Sao Pedro dos Clerigos Church in El Salvador was built in the early nineteenth century and is conveniently located in the center of the historic district on the 15th of November. November 15th Square (Pra a 15 de Novembro) is the official name of the "House of Christ" (Terreiro de Jesus) - a place of congregation of churches and monasteries, which has great historical and cultural significance for the city.
The church itself is a building of brick and stone, the main facade of the building is made in the Rococo style. The interior of the church reflects a mixture of Rococo and Neoclassic styles.
Between 2009 and 2011, the church underwent reconstruction and restoration work due to partial destruction of the building due to termites, poor wiring and lack of fire-fighting equipment.
In April 2011, the beautifully restored and renovated church was reopened to the public.
