El Salvador seaport

Av. da Franca, 1551 - Estacao Maritima - Comercio

Description:

During its early colonization, it was the largest port in the region and was simply called the Port of Brazil.

Thanks to the successful location in All Saints Bay, life near the port quickly developed and very soon a large metropolis appeared here.

Since 1623, the port has been protected by Forte de San Marcelo, a small fortress located three hundred meters from the coastline. At the moment, the fortress has been turned into a museum and is open to visitors. You can reach it by ferry or boat.

The port itself began to be modernized in the early twentieth century. Modernization for a number of reasons delayed until the 70s of the twentieth century. However, many tourists begin to get acquainted with Brazil.
