About the company:
The Pierre Verge Foundation was founded in 1988 to preserve and disseminate the works of the scientist and to promote the development of African and Brazilian cultures. In November 2005, a cultural center was opened at the foundation.
Pierre Vergé, as the founder, president and accompanying member of the foundation, donated all his personal collections collected over decades of travel and research on the mutual influence of two cultures - Brazil and Africa in general, in particular the Bay of Benin and the state of Bahia. There is a library accessible to researchers, consisting of more than 3,500 volumes, 62 thousand photographic negatives, sound recordings, film and video films, as well as a collection of valuable documents, reports, letters, manuscripts and others. Today the doors of the fund are open to visitors. It is located in the same house where Pierre Verge lived for many years, in Ladeira da Vila Am rica, El Salvador.
