The Octavio Frias de Oliveira Bridge is the only bridge in the world with an X-shaped support. In its exterior design it is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world.
The height of the support is 138 meters, the width at the base is 76 meters, the width at the highest point is 35.4 meters. The main function of the support is to support two intersecting transport canvases. The height of one is 12 meters, and the second is 24 meters. The length of the entire bridge is equal to 290 meters.
Construction work on the bridge was started in 2006. First, an X-shaped support was exhibited. Then the carriageway was suspended using 144 steel cables. The final stage of work is the connection of cables with the places of exit and arrival from the bridge.
The opening ceremony took place in May 2008. And in December, LEDs were installed in the cables of the bridge. The system illuminates the bridge with colorful lights. The bridge is especially beautiful during holidays and various advertising campaigns.
