Cabras Island
Ilha das Cabras, Ilhabela, Sã o Paulo
Description:
Cabras Island is one of the many islands in the Illabel archipelago. The island has become a popular resort place, where people come for clean beaches, interesting diving and snorkeling, that is, snorkeling with a pipe.
The island of Cabras got its name from the fact that in ancient times it was considered the center of a local Indian cult, whose adherents believed that giant cobras inhabit the island. Today, this place is more friendly - along the coast stretches a whole street of small cafes and clubs.
The island has a unique ecosystem, which in 1992 became a protected area for the preservation of many areas of the island. Thousands of divers come here to admire marine life and underwater flora.
On the southern tip of the island is a statue of Neptune, which welcomes guests and tourists who arrived by ferry.
