Morumbi Stadium is the most famous stadium in the city and the third largest in Brazil. It was designed by architect Jean-Baptiste Leblon.
Construction of the stadium was completed in 1970 and at that time its maximum capacity was up to 140,000 people. In 1994, in order to reconstruct the stadium, a major overhaul would have been started, which was completed only by 2000. Since then, the maximum capacity of the stadium has been reduced to 80,000 people.
In addition to sporting events such as the Cup Final, the stadium hosts a number of big concerts.
