Religious Museum of Art

Praca Embaixador Gastao da Cunha, 8, Sao Joao del Rei, Brazil

About the company:

The religious museum is considered the leading cultural institution in Brazil. It contains exhibits that are somehow related to the religious art of this country. The museum was founded in 1970. It is here that the largest collections of religious art in Brazil are collected. It even exhibits particles from every church there is in this country.

The gallery presents works by both local and foreign artists. Some of them date back to the sixteenth century. The Religious Museum of Brazil contains works by such famous artists as Freya Agostino da Piedade and Almeida Junior, Benedito Calicosta and Master Valentine. It was in this gallery that the works of twentieth-century artists who painted their paintings on religious themes first appeared.

However, it is worth noting that not only parishioners of churches or religious believers come here, but also ordinary travelers. After all, the collected collection of exhibits is a unique creation of artists of different centuries.
